Can I use a home-printed photo for my Iceland ID card?

No, you can't actually use a home-printed photo for an Iceland ID card. When applying for an Iceland ID, you need to follow the SOPs. The District Commissioner’s office (Sýslumaður) will take a photo right there on the spot. This makes sure it meets all the official biometric requirements.

Is a physical photo required for a driving license exchange?

Yes. If you are exchanging a foreign license, digital photos are not accepted. Applicants require a physical, high-resolution photo on photographic paper.
